Mobi-Mat Additional Access
Through a Community Partnership Grant through Explore Lincoln City in 2024 Friends was able to purchase 300 additional feet of Mobi-mats, adding them to the Grace Hammond and Casino beach accesses. This increased access and added to the already available Mobi-Mats at D-River State Recreation Site, SW 33rd Street near The Sandcastle at Nelscott Beach, and SW 51st St. in the Taft District. These mats create a smooth, easy route to the beach, allowing everyone to enjoy the stunning coastline.
Additionally, beach wheelchairs with balloon-like tires are available for free rental at the SW 51st St. beach access point in the Taft District. These chairs are designed to easily navigate over sand and rocks, allowing more visitors to explore the beach. To borrow a chair, simply download the Movatic App from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
These amenities are available seasonally, typically from Memorial Day through Labor Day, to ensure access during the busiest months of the year.
